An Experience You Will Never Forget!

Well, here we are - Finally!  There were technical hiccups in the video, but we managed to recover and get things back on track so we can share with you the wonderful time that we had in song, dance, music, and fellowship.  Enjoy!

Our musical banquet was held at the George Stevens' Senior Center, which was more than adequate to accommodate our needs.  It was also a wonderful place to have the banquet.  We were happy to be there and appreciate the hospitality that was extended to us.

The program was expertly prepared, which included performers from as far as Los Angeles.  The evening was electrified and certainly one to remember.  Leading the program was Saxophonist and Vocalist Minister Jason Brown.  He played wonderfully during the course of our grand dinner that was so graciously prepared by our own host of skilled chefs.

Following Minister Brown was the Northridge A Cappella Choir from Los Angeles.  They sung beautifully and earned several ovations from the audience.  They were follow by their counter part, the Northridge Dance Troupe who performed brilliantly while acting out a dance of salvation.  A local favorite, Sister AJ Shropshire, a flutist in her own right, brought the crowd to its feet as she skillfully mastered both instrument and music.

Yes, we were enjoying ourselves.  The food was well prepared and satisfied every appetite available.  It's hard to comment on any one dish, but the macaroni and cheese was unbelievably good!  I also heard a lot of great comments about the hot peach cobbler topped with ice cream.

After dinner, and a fine one it was, our national fellowship choir was ready to rock and praise the Lord.  And that they did!  They, too, received a standing ovation.  Many were already up clapping and swaying with the music.  When they were done, Deacon Andre' Binns and Bishop Willie Moore took the stage to duet How Great Thou Art, arranged for the flute and saxophone by Deacon Binns.  We, too, managed to earn a standing ovation by the audience.

What a great musical banquet!  The evening ended with Minister Brown singing and playing his guitar, followed by last words and benediction by Bishop Moore.

Special thanks to Deacon Binns for serving as the Master of Ceremonies; Sister Clydie Patton for heading up the decoration committee; and Pastor Vincent Thomas was spearheading the event, as well as to all of you who labored in love to make our very first musical banquet a tremendous success.  We look to see you again next year, should the Lord delay His coming.  Again, thank you so much!
