By Pastor Joe Williams - As I stand at the gravesite of another deceased, abandoned child, I start to wonder how evil this world really is.  It seems as if every 6 weeks or so, we find ourselves at this same cemetery mourning for another unknown baby.  We are not aware of the babies’ true identity, or age, or nationality, or cause of death.  The Garden of Innocence names all the children; this child was named Thomas. 

Thomas was the 99th deceased/abandoned child buried by the Garden of Innocence.  As if that was not tragic enough, before we were able to bury Thomas, the county of San Diego contacted the Garden of Innocence concerning another deceased/abandoned infant, which will be the 100th child to be buried at the El Camino Memorial Park cemetery.  The funeral service will be held on March 1, 2008 at 10:00 am.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Saturday, Bishop Willie Moore of Voices of Victory delivered the eulogy for baby Thomas. He read from Luke 18 verses 15-17, which say “And they brought unto Him also infants, that he would touch them: but when His disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto Him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”

 

Bishop Moore stated, “The innocence of children causes

Bishop Moore stated that Little Thomas was now, free.  Free from the cares and rejections of this world.  Free because he is in the loving arms of the All Mighty.

 

The garden of Innocence was founded in 1998 by Elissa Davey.  Elissa and the founding members have been working together to care for 

all the abandoned and unidentified children.  This service was coordinated by Rebecca Ferguson.  Special thanks to newly elected president Georgene Kruzel for doing such a wonderful job!
